Please do thank each other for the dance.
At a Social dance, no teaching or corrections on the dance floor.
Leads please do dance the ladies at their level.
For new dancers, it is best to go out with the class since I encourage that we do support each other. Even if you have to just do the same step all night, at least your one step ahead!
For men, it is best to dance 1 or 2 dances per lady. The other ladies might like a chance to dance with you too.However the leads are under no obligation to have to dance with ladies that are not at their dance level. Leads will tend to dance more with ladies who do know how to follow and wear a smile.
Ladies please do not monopolize a lead and or be too aggressive.So what should you do when you had fun with a particular lead and you want to dance again? Thank him for the dance and let him know that later you would really like to dance a Cha Cha or which ever dance with him. Men need space and they will enjoy dancing with you more this way.

The Galaxy Dance Group participated at the Grand Ballroom Competition.
Sam & Sandy danced the Waltz-2nd place. Hoon & Karen danced the Waltz - 2nd place. Deb & Rick danced the Waltz - 1st place.
The Waltz music they danced to was what I call Whispering Waltz. Beautiful sounding but very hard to hear the beats. Challenging for the first timers. I was just happy to see the dancers out there taking on the challenge. The experience was unique and very special.
Rick & Sandy danced the V Waltz and placed 1st. Rick looked at ease and Sandy was just beaming with her beautiful charisma. They got Sandy's daughter's and also my favorite song to dance to.
Rick & Lisa Doll danced the Mambo and place 1st. The Mambo is always exciting and fun to watch. They had a fast song to dance to and at one point missed their steps and still placed 1st! There was a tense moment but they just continued to smile through out and that was impressive. We will be working on Samba and EC Swing for the next competition.
Rick & I danced Pro/Am in Waltz, V Waltz and Mambo and placed 1st.
Plans for The Galaxy Dance Group for 2010 are under works. We really had a great time. More dances!
Congratulations Mark and Lisa! They competed at the Grand Ballroom and danced the Rumba.They placed second in all three heats. Mark stayed focused and lead very well. Lisa was danced beautifully by finishing all of her lines. Mark and Lisa both kept smiles on their faces!

Congratulations Paul and Sofiya! They competed at the Grand Ballroom and placed 1st in Cha Cha and 2nd in Mambo. I had fun getting to work with them at their previous competition. For this competition it was the lovely Mary Lou Rust. It was their first time to do a solo routine. They were fun to watch and their lines read well from far away.
